Becoming a Member Farm of CRAFT Ontario
If you are a farmer in southern Ontario who currently hosts interns or is planning to have interns then we welcome you to contact us to inquire about becoming a CRAFT Ontario member.
These are some of the qualifications that potential farm members must meet. You must:
- have an organic farm (not necessarily certified) and offer an internship program. (The details of a farm internship vary from one farm to another, but all internships are based on an exchange that involves the intern’s labour and commitment and the farmer’s instruction, supervision, education, time and commitment.)
- be willing to host a CRAFT field trip once every year or as needed
- send your interns to each of the monthly CRAFT days and attend at least three of those days yourself
- participate in the CRAFT farmers planning and evaluation meetings be located in SW Ontario, and volunteer to take on a one-year administrative task on behalf of CRAFT once every three years
- grow food and sell or barter it to other people
