Requirements : enthusiastic, exceptional, good sense of humour, honest, willing to learn new things and non smoker.
Accommodations: 10 x 30 trailer on private area. Mini fridge, microwave, private bedroom and living area. Shower in the main house. High speed wireless internet available. Meals with the family. No alcohol consumed on the farm.
Stipend: $100/wk. Opportunity to run a stall at the Farmer’s Market for extra $$. Work hours are Monday to Friday 8-6pm. 1 1/2 lunch. Flexible.
Farm description: 230 acres mixed farm. Most work is done with the horses. We grow vegetables for CSA, farmers market and farm gate. We raise pork, lamb, chicken and turkeys. We practice holistic management using no chemicals. Other enterprises are maple syrup and woodlot forestry. This is a 4th generation farm .
Family description: Ma (Diane) and Pa (Arlee) and 2 teenage kids. 1 part time hired help. Grandpa and Grandma live on the farm in their own house.
Anticipated workload: haymaking, harrowing, seeding, weeding, harvesting, vegetable washing, fence building, building maintenance, logging etc.
