Becoming a CRAFT Kingston Intern

You will make an excellent intern if:

  • You are looking to be immersed in a hands-on learning experience working alongside farmers who practice organic farming methods and sell or trade food locally
  • You are ready to work hard outdoors in all types of weather
  • You are emotionally resilient, open to constructive feedback and excited about immersing yourself in a challenging learning experience
  • Can commit one season (usually April until November, determined by each farm) working on a farm
  • You are excited about visiting farms and meeting other interns and farmers
  • You are planning to have your own farm someday or you want to pursue a career and/or lifestyle that promotes sustainability and ecological awareness
  • Are looking for a first hand experience that will change your life!

Applications

Each CRAFT Kingston farm operates independently and offers its own internship which differs from the other farms with respect to such things as: living and eating arrangements, stipends, work hours, and training methods. For more details see the CRAFT Kingston farm descriptions and contact individual farms directly. If you are a successful applicant to a CRAFT farm then you will live, work and learn at that farm for a full growing season.

You are welcome to inquire to as many as the farms as you would like. If you apply to multiple farms, please share that information with each of the farmers you have applied to work with.
Ideally all CRAFT internships will be filled before late February. Inquire with individual farms to find out when they are accepting applications.
