Elm Tree Farm (Biodynamic/Demeter Certified)
Three Internships Available… One position for an intern with previous ‘on-farm’ experience.
Our Farm is a Traditional Homestead Farm, with many ‘home-style’ gardens
nestled into the contours of the land between the ponds and ridges.
Our interns have a real opportunity to engage in and learn the many and varied
tasks involved in the running of our CSA Farm. Composting, soil-preparation,
seed starting, timely planting & cultivation, transplanting, weeding, harvesting,
biodynamic preparations, and seed saving are taught, using hands-on experience
and complemented with classroom sessions and active participation in the
Kingston CRAFT group. In addition to the Gardening Skills, you will also learn
about Livestock Management with our horses, how to Raise Heritage Birds, and
Food Preservation Techniques.
Our Ottawa CSA is in its 14th season. We offer a Local CSA, and Our Farm Store
offers our Produce, Farm Products and other Organic Foodstuffs to Our Local
Community.
