Whole Circle Farm
ALL POSITIONS FILLED FOR 2010
Whole Circle Farm aims to grow food that feeds the spirit. Located 20 minutes outside of Guelph, we are a 200-acre biodynamic farm which includes an 8 acre market garden, 35 acres of field crops, 50 acres of bush, and 100 acres of hay. In addition to running an almost year-round CSA, we also raise beef and dairy cattle, chickens, and heritage pigs. We sell both through our farm store and the Georgetown Farmers Market.
Whole Circle can provide a diverse, year-round farming experience. In early spring, we begin with tapping for maple syrup. The bulk of the internship is focused on market gardening (greenhouse management, working the field, selling and making compost & biodynamic prep applications). The animals are central to the existence of Whole Circle farm and we introduce interns to all aspects of raising livestock using organic and biodynamic practices. Interns also learn about biodynamic farming, food preservation, tractor maintenance, and storing root vegetables over winter. We offer room, board and a stipend. Internships are available year-round but at the minimum run from March until mid-November.
