Cedar Grove Organic Farm
Cedar Grove Organic Farm is located in the rolling Kawartha hills between Peterborough and Lindsay. We are one of the dozen farms operating under the umbrella of Kawartha Ecological Growers. The 146-acre farm includes a 20-acre wetland and 30 acres of woods & bush. We grow and experiment with a variety of heritage vegetables, and seed-saving is a specialty. The three cows and three donkeys are fed hay harvested in June with mechanical equipment. The place was neglected and badly managed in the decades prior to purchase in 2001, and, notwithstanding our efforts to bring some life into a tired old farm, today still exhibits many of the characteristics of the abused and broken-down world that many of us know. The challenge is to make it work. The dog’s name is Lady.
